Mosquito

The mosquito is a small flying insect found all over the world. It has a thin body, two wings, and six long legs. Though tiny in size, mosquitoes have a big impact on human life. They are well known for biting and sucking blood, especially during the evening and night.

Benefits

Mosquitoes are a part of nature’s food chain. Their larvae live in water and serve as food for fish, frogs, and other aquatic creatures. Adult mosquitoes are eaten by birds, bats, and dragonflies. In some cases, mosquitoes also help in pollination when they feed on nectar from flowers.

Harm

Despite a few benefits, mosquitoes cause great harm to humans. They spread dangerous diseases like malaria, dengue, and chikungunya, which can make people very sick or even cause death. Their bites cause itching, swelling, and discomfort. Mosquitoes breed in stagnant water, so dirty surroundings help them multiply quickly. They also disturb our sleep with their buzzing sound at night.
